We translate anything and anywhere. Our list of the most common requests and our prices are just a general overview to give you an idea how much you may have to spend and what documents you may need to turn in. If your document has only a few lines, we will adjust the price accordingly. If your document has a large amount of text, we will also go for a reasonable fixed price. The possibility of price negotiation remains subject to our discretion. If you buy a Montana proxy marriage, for example, you'll most likely also have the few bucks we'll charge. We're not afraid of competition, though. Feel free to compare prices and get back to us before you drop us like a hairy spider you mistook for a dustball and run screaming from us. We will try to find a way to win you over.
All our translations are notarized and fulfill the requirements of German authorities regarding any of the occasion we listed on this website (and beyond that). Our translators are publicly appointed and sworn and have a license by a Regional Court in the Free State of Bavaria, Germany. Our translations are recognized basically anywhere. Our notarization meets the requirements of US authorities as well.
The majority of documents we translate is needed at German offices so we usually bring the printed and notarized translation to those appointments. No need to pick them up. If you insist on having your copy before an appointment or you just need a translation without further appointment, we will send it to you by mail or deposit it at our pick-up location for you. You'll receive instructions in that case.
All services must be paid in advance. We will not start the translation before we received payment. We trust you but we want to be on the safe side. Don't worry, if you want to cancel and we haven't done the job yet, we will fully refund you or just keep an amount that covers what we've already completed (like travel costs if we are already at the location of your wedding but you call it off).
We accept wire transfer and PayPal. Unfortunately, Venmo and CashApp are not a thing in Germany. For wire transfer, services such as WISE may be useful. Or simply ask the German participant (if any) to use their German bank account.
We also accept cash (in Euros), if payment is granted at the location of a service (paternity appointment in Vilseck, for example). We are working on accepting card payment for such occasions in the future but cannot offer it yet.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE NOT ASSOCIATED WITH ANY OF THE GERMAN AUTHORITIES. WE ARE A BUSINESS AND WE DO NOT GET PAID BY THEM. THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FEES THAT DEPEND ON THE NATURE OF YOUR REQUEST. THOSE FEES DO NOT INCLUDE OURS AND NEITHER DO OUR FEES INCLUDE THEIRS.
If you intend to get married in Germany and previously got divorced in the United States, the previous marriage certificate and the divorce decree (the most important parts) need to be translated.
If you do not have the marriage certificate because your previous spouse ran off with it and you can't get a new one, do not attempt to get married in Germany. The Higher Regional Court (the authority in charge) will reject your request.
US divorce decrees must be presented as a TRUE COPY and bear a stamp by the courthouse that issued the decree. The stamp must point out that it's a true copy and it must state the date. The date stamp must state a date 90 DAYS after the divorce decree was issued (all states except Texas: 30 days and Hawaii: 0 days). If this is not the case or you are unable to obtain such a document or you got divorced last week but have to get married next week because you will leave soon, then there is no way we can help you.
You cannot object against this. There is no way the JAG office or any lawyer can resolve this. You cannot bring any other paper. They will reject you. You will waste your time, our time, and the time of the registrar (the German office that handles your marriage request). Neither the registrar nor we can do anything about it. You also cannot talk to the Higher Regional Court. I mean you can but it will be fruitless.
In such cases we recommend you either fly to the US to get married or get a proxy marriage in Flathead County, Montana. You don't have to travel there, you will get married by proxy. This is a service for service members stationed outside the United States. We cannot offer an external link to a third party website in this regard so please use a search engine or contact us by e-mail to get a list of service providers. For free. The list, not the service. They will of course charge you.
